Likely John D. Voelker's (Robert Traver's) best-known work, Anatomy of a Murder is based on an actual court case in which Voelker successfully defended Army Lieutenant Coleman L. Peterson on a charge of murder. The book addresses such issues as the temporary insanity defense, witness coaching, and rape. It was later turned into an Oscar-winning movie starring Jimmy Stewart. |
