Manistique Pioneer-Tribune newspapers

About

The Pioneer-Tribune is a weekly paper published in Manistique, Michigan that covers news from the central Upper Peninsula. It was previously known as the Manistique Pioneer-Tribune, which started in 1896 when the Manistique Weekly Pioneer and the Manistique Tribune merged. The Manistique Weekly Pioneer (1895-1896) had previously been called the Manistique Semi-Weekly Pioneer (1892-1895), the Manistique Tri-Weekly Pioneer (1887-1892), the Tri-Weekly Pioneer (1887), the Semi-Weekly Pioneer (1885-1887), and the Schoolcraft County Pioneer (1880-1885).

The digital collection contains issues from 1888 to 2020. There are many missing issues. See the finding aid for details. In addition, due to curved pages and light text in the original microfilm, the full-text search for this paper is not very accurate. We recommend browsing the paper if search does not return any results.

Other issues of the Manistique Pioneer-Tribune can be found in the Schoolcraft County Historical Society Newspapers collection.
