Thompson Township Government Records
About
The Township of Thompson was formed in 1882 when it was detached from the Township of Hiawatha. The first township board was elected on April 3, 1882. This collection includes deeds, the results of an 1884 census, lists of elected officials, histories of the township and the town hall, and correspondence about the closure of the post office. Of particular note is a list of undigitized local government ledgers maintained by the Thompson Township Historical Advisory Committee, including meeting minutes, assessment rolls, birth and death records, and more. Those interested in gaining access to these ledgers should contact the Thompson Township Historical Advisory Committee directly.
