Description / Synopsis
Lou and Peter Berryman are a Madison, Wisconsin songwriting and comedy duo. Lou plays the accordion while Peter plays the guitar. They describe themselves as "songwriters in the folk/cabaret tradition" and have recorded 19 albums. They have performed on A Prairie Home Companion. Lou Noffke Berryman was born in Appleton, Wisconsin in 1947, while Peter Berryman was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania in 1947. They met in high school in Appleton, Wisconsin and began performing together with a variety of bands. They were married from 1967 to 1973, but stayed friends and continued to perform together as a duo. By 1977, they were full-time musicians. In 2017, they announced their retirement from national touring, but they continue to perform. |
