About
The Marquette Regional History Center is a museum documenting the history of Marquette County and the surrounding Great Lakes region from prehistory to the present day. It contains the J.M. Longyear Research Library which collects rare books and archival collections related to the history of the Lake Superior region, including scrapbooks, newspapers, current event files, magazines, diaries, correspondence, business ledgers, personal papers, genealogy sources, a large map collection, and a very extensive collection of photographs. The museum includes a permanent exhibit and rotating special exhibit. The MRHC provides educational programming for members and non-members, school field trips and a gift store with merchandise made by local artists. They are open year round, closed on major holidays.
