Description / Synopsis
The first Locomotive into Houghton was this Marquette, Houghton and Ontonagon Railroad Company steam engine. Captured in this stereopticon slide and preserved by a member of the Keweenaw Historical Society, the engine photo was dated 1886 with Pat O'Brien as first engineer. Ten years later the railroad commissioner stated that DSSandA railway system was the most extensive railroad property in the Upper Peninsula |
