In 2006, the Thompson Township Historical Advisory Committee installed a state historic marker and five interpretive panels about the history of Thompson. The panels describe the logging industry in Thompson, the related mill and shipping industries, and the famous Christmas Tree Ship shipwreck. (See the Christmas Tree Ship collection for more information on the shipwreck.) This collection contains photographs and newspaper articles related to the installation of the historic marker and interpretive panels in the town of Thompson. It also includes the full text of the marker and panels.
