Description / Synopsis
According to the 1987 Festival program guide, Robert Lucas' "singing and guitar style are reminiscent of other greats of the 20’s and 30’s, but he keeps his own identity when playing solo on his vintage National Steel Guitar. His singing is in the raw blues tradition, straight from the heart by way of the throat, and its been said that Lucas plays the slide guitar like he was born with a bottle instead of an index finger, and his harmonica blowin’ is some of the nastiest south of Chicago." |
