Amanda Winnicki lived in Iron Mountain, Michigan from first grade until partway through high school, when her family moved to Traverse City, Michigan. After working as a dairy farmer, she became a librarian. She and her family moved to Rudyard, Michigan, where she worked as a librarian for the Department of Corrections in Chippewa County for many years. She then became the director of the Menominee County Library and moved to the Stephenson area. Winnicki discusses the differences between the western and eastern Upper Peninsula, her work as a librarian, why she loves living in the UP, and being a library director during the COVID-19 pandemic.
