Description / Synopsis
Peter Fraser (Frazier?) and Phyllis Reynolds show the Red Dust students a "wooden lung," a cheaper alternative to the iron lung invented in Marquette County by Peter Fraser's grandfather. Peter describes the acute epidemics of polio in the UP that led to the need for more respirators, how his grandfather invented the machine, how it works, and his grandfather's decision not to patent his invention. |
