University Free Press, 1971-03-18

The University Free Press was an "underground" alternative student newspaper at Northern Michigan University that apparently began as a reaction to the interference of University President John X. Jamrich in the publication of the Northern News, the official newspaper at NMU. This collection contains two issues of the University Free Press newspaper published in 1971, Vol. 1 issue 1 and Vol. 1 issue 3. Much of the paper's focus is on student opposition to the Vietnam War. Other topics include the environment and record reviews.
