Alba Calvino Klien discusses her family background, how her family lived all over Europe, why they left during World War I, how they ended up in Iron Mountain after some time in South America, languages that she and her parents spoke, what her childhood house was like, farming, what Iron Mountain was like in the early twentieth century, conflict and relationships between different ethnic groups in Iron Mountain, schools, mining, unions, the Depression, the Civilian Conservation Corps, her job at the Wisconsin Michigan Power Company, the railroad, entertainment and social life in Iron Mountain, and World War II.
