Marie Ostola (born 1932) discusses her family, her education at St. John's school in Ishpeming, and going back to school at National Mine late in life to finish her high school diploma, athletics, recreation, chores, school trips, her memories of World War II, serving on the National Mine school board, changes in special education, the consolidation of area schools, plays, tensions between National Mine and Ishpeming, and her feelings about the closure of the National Mine school. |
