Lone Elm Farm photographs
About
This collection consists of ninety-nine photographs. They document the Lone Elm Farm in Menominee County, Michigan. The farm was founded by Peter and Emma Benson in the late 1890s. Their son, Andrew Benson Sr., took over the farm in the 1930s, after living on adjacent land in a log house with his wife, Hanna Christensen Benson, and their 12 children. Andrew's son Jerry took over operation of the farm after Andrew's death in 1955, though Hanna continued to live on the farm and do the housework for her bachelor son until the mid-1980s.
