First National Bank, 400 South Nelson Street (Main Street), Looking West, Norway, ca. 1916: Postmarked Vulcan, Mich., September 11, 1916, Norway’s First National Bank building was erected at 400 South Nelson Street - now Main Street - in 1908. John S. Lindsley, of Escanaba, secured the contract with a bid of $10,450, excluding the vault and plumbing. The two-story brick structure housed the bank on the first floor and office space for rental purposes on the second floor. [William John Cummings]
