Description / Synopsis
Dorothy Gleason discusses her career as a music and theater teacher at National Mine school in the early twentieth century. Topics include the annual musical programs that she wrote and choreographed, general teaching conditions, the male-female teacher ratio, second-hand memories of the fire at National Mine school in 1923, her memories of John D. Pierce and Don Bottum, and the athletics programs run by her husband, coach and teacher Pat Gleason. She also describes changes in education, students, bussing, and lunch over the course of her career. Some of the audio is very muffled. |
