A photograph of Geraldine and Michael DeFant. Geri was an organizer for the Interational Ladies' Garment Workers union who led the 1949 Gossard strike. She also served on the Michigan Women's Commission and as the Democratic chairwoman of the 11th Congressional District, was a Marquette County Commissioner from 1982 to 1991, and was one of the founders of the Marquette Women's Center. Michael DeFant was an attorney and Marquette County probate judge. |
