Description / Synopsis
Gertrude Gruber discusses her Cornish heritage and her grandparents' immigration to the Upper Peninsula from Cornwall in the mid-1800s. She discuss the impact her heritage had on her life growing up in Hancock, Michigan in the early 1900s, including religion, food, education, and entertainment. Insight is also given on the impact of the Great Depression on the Copper Country.
