January 10, 1891 Saturday Fatally Injured While walking along the track of the DSS and A last Thursday evening, Carl Str and , an employe of the Clevel and Mining Co., was overtaken by a freight engine at the Third street crossing. He stepped aside to let the cars pass, and in doing so slipped and fell, his heel being caught and crushed by the wheels of the locomotive. The injured man was taken to the Ishpeming hospital, where death relieved him of his sufferings in a few hours. The severe nervous shock which such an accident would give a man of somewhat advanced age and low vitality, was doubtless the immediate cause of death, such injuries not being necessarily fatal. ... |
