Newberry news (Newberry, Mich.) [DSS and A/GR and I RR Straits Car Ferry--1892] The new transfer steamer being built for the use of the D. S. S. and A. and G. R. and I. railroad companies at the straits of Mackinac, will be much more powerful boat than the St. Ignace, and of larger dimensions. She will be 375 feet long and will be completely housed in to protect the cars from the spray when being transferred across the straits. The steamer will be named the Ste. Marie.
