Duluth evening herald (Duluth, Minn.) Source: The Duluth Evening Herald Duluth, MN Saturday, November 26, 1892 The Road Completed The South Shore tracks are now completed into the head of the lakes and the first coach arrived last evening bearing General Manager General Manager W. f. Fitch and Superintendent Philbin. On December 2nd the first passenger train will arrive. It will be an excursion train containing business men from Marquette, Ishpeming and Negaunee and other cities of the Northern Peninsula. The South Shore is giving this excursion and will take them to Superior and will not bring them to Duluth at all. it looks very much as though the road is giving Duluth the "go by." The excursionists will return home Sunday. |
