Daily mining journal (Marquette, Mich.) Source: The Mining Journal Marquette, Mi. December 31, 1892 Saturday The St. Ignace Republican states that the South shore yard engine at that point now has a double crew and is puffing up and down between the yards and transfer dock from morning to night and from night to morning, while the St. Ignace is churning the straits at all hours in order to transfer the great quantities of copper, flour and lumber passing east by the South Shore route. The Republican declares that there never has been such a rush of eastbound freight before in the history of the South Shore. DSS and A Mackinac Transportation Co. |
