Newberry news (Newberry, Mich.) [Annual Rate of replacing RAILROAD TIES on DSS and A--1892] The D. S. S. and A. Railway Co. put down 150,000 ties annually repairing their road, which means an expenditure of nearly $30,000 for the ties alone. The work of laying these ties keeps a large force of men at work during the summer months. [Newberry News, p. 8, 18 March 1892] File: DSS and A copy CJB to WP |
