March 21, 1890 Friday New Approach to No. 3 Dock The South Shore has notified Alex Grant to remove his house which st and s on the company's l and s south of the approach to the dock upon which work will begin immediately. The new approach will be of curved form and will join the main track near the site of the old Northwestern Hotel. It is chiefly designed to take away the empty ore cars, thus relieving the pressure and traffic at the crossing of Front and Superior streets. The South Shore will not let a contract for this approach but will do the work itself. DSS and A DSS and A Dock |
