November 16, 1889 Saturday Ishpeming - The South Shore has a construction gang at work putting in a side track to the Iron Valley mine. This property is the discovery of Messers. Finn, Ely and others and the developments have been so satisfactory that the place is certainly entitled to the appelation [*appellation] of a mine. The side track starts in just east of the Seventh st., crossing and goes right up the hill. The grade will be quite a heavy one, but will not be so steep as the one at the East New York just to the south. |
