September 14, 1889 The New Man in Charge Negaunee.- The change in station agents at the DSS and A depot in this city was effected Thursday. Mr. George W. Kilmer, the retiring officer being checked out and his successor Mr. W. H. Chellis placed in charge by the auditor of the road. The people of Negaunee are sorry to see Mr. Kilmer leave, for he was one of the best agents the road has ever had here, and the business men found in him a man who was uniformly courteous, who attended strictly to his busness and who was ever ready to oblidge any and all who had occasion to seek a favor at his h and s. After spending a week or so in the North West, Mr. Kilmer will go to his old home in Tennessee. The Mining Journal trusts that happiness and prosperity will attend him wherever his lot may be cast, and the wish will be heartily echoed by the people of this city. Of Mr. Chellis little need be said, for by his residence some years ago he became well acquainted in the city and there is no doubt as to his ability to look after the interests of the road at this station to the entire satisfaction of both his employers and their patrons. Negaune.- The Mining Journal's readers will be glad to learn that W. H. Chellis has accepted the position of station agent on the DSS and A at this place. He arrived here Wednesday and entered upon his duties next morning as the successor of Mr. Kilmer. Mr. Kilmer will be here for a few days going first to St. Paul and then to Minneapolis and other points. About October first he will return here and will then go from here to his home in McMinnville,.Tn. DSS and A Ry. Stations - Negaunee, Mi |
