Source: The Mining Journal, Marquette, MI Friday, February, 15, 1889 Negaunee - A Marquette man whose business calls him up here every day or two counted on the evening train being five minutes late. Under the old regime this calculation would have brought him to the depot at least twenty-five minutes before its arrival, but in this case he was exactly five minutes too late for his train, for the South Shore trains are now being run "OT," as the trainmen would express it. Michigamme - A wood siding is being located at the Stewart mine by C. H. V. Cavis, engineer of the South Shore road. Marquette - John F. Stevens, of Minneapolis, who was Mr. Lacha's principal assistant engineer on the DSS and A Ry., is in the city on business. |
