Not long since the Mining Journal noted the presence in the city of R. K. Hawley, the well-known Clevel and capitalist, and his some what mysterious moves while here. Mr. Hawley refused to state what had brought him up to Marquette in mid-winter, but it is now announced that the T. H. McGraw and Co., have sold their while pine on Dead River, purchased from H. c. Thurber, to R. K. Hawley and Co., Clevel and . It will take eight years to harvest the crop at the rate of 20,000,000 feet a year. Hawley and Co., will take it at a straight price. The logs will be towed to Clevel and . In the coming spring McGraw and Co., will build a logging railroad to connect their lumbering operations with the DSS and A. It will be four miles long.
