Source: The Daily Mining Journal, Marquette, MI Friday, August 20. 1888 PWPL Micro Film Reel No. 33 Doughty Dagoes At Nestoria yesterday 40 or 50 Italians who had been working on the extension, boarded the train for Marquette. They were a noisy lot and filled the smoking car full. Some of them made a break for the first class coaches but brakeman Jones interefered [*interfered], as there were ladies in those cars. The result was a lively battle. Jones got his head knocked through the window of the car door and retaliated by arming himself with a stove shaker and cracking a few Italian top knots, in a highly satisfactory manner.
