Source: The Alger County Republican Au Train, Alger County, Mi. July 14, 1888 Saturday Shingleton - A brakeman on the west bound local freight fell from the train a little east of here on Saturday, striking his head on a log. The train was given hurrying orders and he was taken to the hospital at Marquette for repairs.
