June 23, 1888 Saturday The constant use of the single telegraph wire running along the DSS and A for train dispatching has caused serious delay and annoyance to local business men who have frequent occasion to use the telegraph for business. The Western Union Telegraph Co., have come to appreciate the fact that their business was being hindered and have laid a new cable across the Mackinaw Straits, and it is understood that they will string another wire from S. Ignace to Marquette, to be used entirely for commercial business. This cannot be done too soon. |
