June 7, 1888 Thursday At 6 o'clock last night a night crew was put on the merch and ise dock, and will be kept on until the close of navigation. Coal vessels will hereafter receive the best of dispatch here, night and day, and every effort will be made by the officers of the road to make this one of the favorite ports on the upper lakes for vessel men. Ore carriers are now receiving the best of dispatch and the port is fast redeeming itself in the eyes of shippers. The present South Shore management is full of life, and Marquette has got to come to the front. DSS and A Docks |
