February 18, 1888 Saturday New Dock Work Work on No. 3 ore dock is progressing rapidly, and the contractors have reason to feel proud of their splendid success. Of course, the pleasant weather has a good deal to do with it, and they appear to be taking advantage of it in every move made. A large amount of framing work has been completed and yesterday timber was being hauled out to the extension and the work of putting on the pile capping begun, and the huge driver mounted on a scow is making rapid progress toward completing the balance of the extension of 650 feet from the outer end of the old dock. As fast as the pile caps are put on the frames the superstructure will be put in place. The contractors are men of long experience in dock building and when completed No. 3 will not only be the largest but one of the very best ore docks on the lake. DSS and A Docks
