January 5, 1888 Thursday Two hundred and fifty miles of DSS and A comprising the eastern portion which has been in operation during 1887, show gross earnings for the past year at $1,500,000 and net of $660,000. When the entire line, now practically completed, is in use, it is estimated that the gross earnings will be $3,000,000 with a net of $1,200,000, and further, that dividends from 4 to 6% will be declared the first year. There is now $200,000 in the treasury and the company has not yet decided whether to use it for purchasing its l and grant bonds or to expend the money in dividends. |
