May 7, 1887 Saturday It has not yet been decided whether the South Shore will maintain both the DSS and A and MH and O shops or not. For the present both are crowded with work. The MH and O after its purchase of the M and W had a surplus of motive power and as the M and W engines were new and more powerful than the MH and O engines they were largely used, the extra engines of the older road being placed in "ordinary" as they needed overhauling. All these engines are now being fitted out and as a consequence both shops are crowded with work. |
