Electronic reproduction of: Transcription of newspaper article from the Mining journal (Marquette, Mich.), Apr. 30, 1887. Source. The Mining Journal Marquette, Mi. April 30, 1887 Saturday The New Arrangement General Superintendent Watson, of the DSS and A returned last evening from an important business visit to Detroit. Nearly all the particulars for the management of the business of the company at this point has been arranged, and Monday the Mining Journal will be able to announce many of the changes. The intention of the management is to simplify and systematize the company's business so that it can be h and led easily and economically. All changes made will be toward that end. In regard to the mail service, Mr. Watson states that the government will undoubtedly put agents on the Mackinaw division during the summer, but that for the present they will only run between Marquette and Houghton as heretofore. This is to be regretted but as it cannot be helped must be endured. The company is very anxious to have route agents on the entire line, and will have arrangements made as soon as possible. The through night train will be put on in June, the exact date depending largely on the season. If warm weather is experienced the train will be put on early in the month. All train crews and engines will be changed at this city. Train master Floeter has moved his office from the DM and M years to the MH and O's train master's office at the Fourth street crossing, where all trains will be h and led hereafter.
