Electronic reproduction of: Transcription of newspaper article from the Iron ore (Ishpeming, Mich.), Feb. 16, 1887. Source: The Mining Journal Marquette, Mi. February 16, 1887 Ishpeming - George McDonald will put in 2,000,000 feet of logs for his mill at Redruth, six miles west of Michigamme, in Baraga County. There is at present three and a half feet of snow on the level at Summit, halfway between Michigamme and L'Anse and about two and a half feet throughout the west part of Marquette county. McDonald is taking the old machinery out of his mill and putting in a 16 x 24 engine, and will saw all the logs cut this winter; of last winter's cut, not a log is left at the mill. |
