Section 1. The People of the State of Michigan enact, That all railroad companies now existing, or hereafter organized, whose line of road lie in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan, in whole or in part, shall have the right, for three years after this act shall take effect to charge and collect fares from passengers traveling in their cars at the rate of four cents per mile, on any such portion of their respective roads as may lie in said Upper Peninsula, any law of this State to the contrary notwithst and ing.
