Source: The Mining Journal Marquette, Mi. July 7, 1888 Saturday Roadmaster C. H. Watson, of the Mackinac division, DSS and A, is of the opinion that if anyone walks from Marquette to New York he won't find any smoother walking on the route than he will strike right here on the Mackinac division. The work of placing the roadbed in first class condition preparatory to heavy through traffic is being pushed vigorously.
