DSS and A owe it to themselves

Mi. June 2, 1888 Saturday The DSS and A owe it to themselves to devote a little of their thought and money to the accommodation of its local traffic. We regret to know that the local business east of Marquette is not of greater magnitude, but one way to get business is to furnish accommodations for doing it. Au Train is very much in need of something in the matter of a freight depot, where goods can be unloaded and kept "out of the wet" until they can be removed. It need not be large or expensive; but as the matters are now, owners must either be on h and with teams when goods arrive, or subject them to the chances of storm and theft. But it is not alone the freight that is unprotected in inclement weather, for there are absolutely nothing that can be called accommodations for passengers. We are willing to make all due allowances for a new road in a new country, but there seems to us an urgent necessity that a comfortable waiting room for passengers be provided before the excursion season commences and visitors and pic-nickers [*picnicker]pour in upon us. Au Train being the county seat, the number of persons coming and going from here will necessarily increase and they are entitled to be treated better than cattle. The present so-called station is unfit for a lady to enter and even men avoid it as much as possible. We hope that the management will not give this matter the cold shoulder.
