March 1, 1888 Thursday Burglarized The depot of the DSS and A at Humboldt was burglariously entered Tuesday night and the money drawer and ticket case rifled. A few tickets were taken and no money, there being none in the drawer. The knob of the safe belonging to the American Express Co., was broken off, though no further attempt seems to have been made to open it. The safe contained $500. The burglar left some portion of his clothing and the dimensions of a peculiar foot in the snow at the window, which is thought will lead to his arrest. |
