September 16, 1887. A. Watson, General Superintendent. Accident Report An accident occured upon the Duluth South Shore and Atlantic Railway at Dollarville Station, on the 16th days of September 1887, at 215 o'clock a. m. caused by: Freight train westbound coming into collision with rear portion of another westbound freight train at Dollarville station. Night was foggy; forward train sent brakeman with lamp back to signal coming train; it was almost stopped but being on a down grade and cars loaded, they pushed engine forward into rear of preceding tain. No person was injured, nor track displaced. Caboose and 5 ore cars were thrown from track. Casulaties resulting from above accident None |
