Source: The Daily Mining Journal, Marquette, MI Friday, March 6, 1891 A Troublesome Tunnel Negaunee - The contractors engaged in building a water tunnel through the DSS and A embankment, just south of the junction of Pioneer street and Teal Lake avenue are experiencing some difficulty. The original plan of building a stone tunnel has been ab and oned and a tunnel constructed of cedar logs has been started about 20 feet west of the old passage way. It will take another week to finish the work. |
