December 25, 1886 Through The Peninsula General Manager Washburn, of Minneapolis, interviewd by a Chicago reporter, confirms the statement that he had placed $9,000,000 of MSSM and A bonds. He says: "We intend to go right forward with road building next spring, and by January 1, 1888, our road will be complete and ready for operation from Turtle Lake into Minneapolis, and from Rhinel and er to the Sault Ste. Marie. Our bridge contracts have not been given out, but will be very good. The bridge at the Sault will, without doubt, be built by our road, the CPR and the DSS and A jointly, as we shall all make use of the structure." |
