Bertha Livermore describes the Michigan Timber Workers' Strike of 1937 at the Newberry Lumber and Chemical Company, the relations between the Finnish and the Swedish in Newberry, the combining of the Finnish and Swedish churches in Newberry, and other aspects of life in Newberry during the mid twentieth century.
