Abstract/Description: | Cyanotype photograph of trhe remains of the Steamer "Algoma" that was wrecked on Greenstone Island, November 2, 1885. This was the first year for the new steel steamer, which was made in Scotland on the Clive River and sailed to America along with the "Alberta" and the "Athabasca." The "Algoma" (and the other two) was constructed in 1885, so this wreckage shows her after about the first or second trip on Lake Superior. Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. |
