Masonic Block with The People’s Store and Norway Candy Kitchen, 316 Nelson Street (Main Street), Norway, 1909: Norway’s Masonic Block was located at the southwest corner of South Nelson Street (now Main Street) and Frederick Street (now Eighth Avenue). It was scheduled to open in the late spring of 1909, probably shortly before this postcard view was taken. The two store rooms on the first floor of the two-story brick building housed The People’s Store and the Norway Candy Kitchen. The lodge rooms were on the second floor. The Ben Franklin Store was later located in this building.
