View of work on the bottom of the rock cut during construction of the Iron Range and Huron Bay Railroad. Arvon Township, Baraga County, Michigan.  This nearly $2 million railroad was to run from Skanee, Michigan to Champion, Michigan.  Engineering flaws and a steep grade kept trains from ever running the rail.
