Martha was a student at Northern Michigan University when The Women's Center was being established but wasn't directly involved until 1983 when she returned to Marquette, Michigan. During this time, she was going through a divorce while still taking care of three kids, so she went to The Women's Center and joined the displaced homemaker program. Martha describes how that program and other programs helped her. She now serves as a board member for The Women's Center. Recorded at Martha Parks' shop in Marquette, Michigan. |
