Cafiero discusses where his father was from in San Marino, why they came to the United States, their jobs as ceramic tile makers, the Depression, how he learned English, becoming an American citizen, serving as an interpreter for the US Army in Italy during World War II, and meeting his wife in Italy. Regina recounts her birth in France in 1927, her childhood in Italy, and her memories of World War II. She also tells the story of how she met her husband during his military service in Italy and how she immigrated to the United States in great detail. The interview was recorded at the San Marino Club in Troy, Michigan. |
